Autism & Developmental Evaluations

Typically for children under age 6 · In person or telehealth

These evaluations are designed to better understand a child's development and identify whether they may meet criteria for autism. The evaluation considers communication, social interaction, behavior, and overall development.

We draw on caregiver input, clinical observation, and standardized assessment tools to build a comprehensive understanding of your child's strengths, needs, and developmental profile.

Psychological Evaluations

Typically age 6 and older · Generally in person

Psychological evaluations look at a child's cognitive, emotional, behavioral, adaptive, and social functioning, depending on the presenting concerns. Depending on the referral question, an evaluation may examine:

  • Cognitive and intellectual functioning
  • Adaptive functioning and daily living skills
  • Emotional, behavioral, and social functioning
  • Attention and executive functioning
  • Other areas relevant to your child's specific concerns

Our goal is to understand the whole child — not just individual test scores — and provide recommendations that help families, schools, and providers better support your child.

Therapy

Supportive, developmentally appropriate care for children and adolescents — one-on-one and alongside peers.

Individual Therapy

Individual therapy gives children and adolescents a supportive, developmentally appropriate space to work through emotional, behavioral, social, and other mental health concerns. Treatment is tailored to each child's unique needs and may address anxiety, mood difficulties, emotional regulation, behavioral challenges, social difficulties, adjustment, and coping skills.

Our therapists use evidence-based approaches and work collaboratively with caregivers to help children build skills and make meaningful progress in everyday life.

Group Therapy

Group therapy gives children and adolescents the opportunity to build skills and connect with peers experiencing similar challenges. Groups are designed around specific needs and may focus on social skills, emotional regulation, coping skills, anxiety management, or other developmental and mental health concerns.

In a supportive environment, children practice skills while developing confidence, connection, and relationships with peers.

Caregiver-Mediated Intervention

Caregiver-mediated intervention teaches parents and caregivers practical strategies they can use in everyday routines to support their child's development and behavior. Rather than focusing solely on working directly with the child, these services empower caregivers to become active participants in treatment.

We use evidence-based approaches such as RUBI (Research Units in Behavioral Intervention) and Project ImPACT, matched to each family's needs. These approaches help caregivers support communication, social engagement, emotional and behavioral regulation, and other important developmental skills — at home and throughout daily routines.

A note on insurance & academic testing

Academic testing is available as an optional add-on to a comprehensive psychological evaluation. It can help clarify learning profiles and guide school supports when questions about academics are part of the picture.

Please note that academic testing is not covered by insurance and is always billed separately as an out-of-pocket service. We'll walk you through costs and options before anything is scheduled, so there are no surprises.

Not sure which service fits? Let's talk it through.
